HENNA ART
HENNA HAND WORKSHOP
CHILDREN'S
LEARNING SHOULD BE CREATIVE AND A MEMORABLE LEARNING EXPERIENCE
The
application of henna onto skin is a custom practised in many cultures around
the world; primarily in India and North Africa. It is applied for weddings,
fashion, and just for fun.
Henna paste that comes in foil cones will temporarily stain the skin for one to three weeks. Its colour varies from
orange to dark reddish brown. Henna paste will stain clothing permanently.
Children at St Marys made their Henna Art on a large fabric board that would later be entered in a competition.
Henna Art display made with a whole community of people from the Asian Elders.
People from the community and professionals joined in their Diwali/Eid celebrations
making Henna patterns to make this amazing piece of art work.

Woodbank childrens Centre celebrated with their community by having Henna Art as one of the workshops.
Adults and children at a Childrens centre in Dewsbury had a great time designing their henna patterns on clay hands, we then took them away and displayed them on a revolving cube structure.
